Social media has become a source by which many patients are finding their medical providers, especially in medical aesthetics.  Instagram and Facebook are great platforms for providers to display their aesthetic work, because it is very visual.  However, it is improtant that you remain diligent when choosing your aesthetic provider.  The #verifyhealthcare campaign is urging all medical providers to be more transparent about their qualifications.  When you go to see a provider ask them about their qualifications and training.  I wanted to share mine with you.

I graduated in 2007 from Oregon Health and Science University with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.  I worked in orthopedics, nephrology, ICU and Medical/Surgical the first 8 years of my career.  I have spent the last 3 years working in family practice and aesthetics.  I have trained with some of the top aesthetic injectors in the country, including Julie Kaplan, Melissa Berg and Lynnette smith, and hold certifications in advanced injections (Botox, dermal filler and kybella), microneedling, platelet rich plasma therapy, dermaplaning and chemical peels. I continue to attend seminars and conferences to learn the newest techniques, treatments and safety guidelines to provide my patients the best care.

I love when my patients ask me questions about my qualifications, because it helps them to make an informed decision about their treatment.  Do you have questions for me?  Send me an email or give me a call.  I would love to chat!

See you at the spa.

Have you heard of the Vampire Facial, also known as platelet rich plasma therapy? It has become increasing popular among celebrities because it is a treatment that delivers astounding results, stops aging in its tracks, and is all natural.

Think of the Vampire Facial as a treatment in self healing.  A small amount of your blood is drawn and spun down in a centrifuge.  This process seperates your plasma from your whole blood, and the plasma is very concentrated in platelets, stem cells and growth factors.  Hence the name, platelet rich plasma therapy.  The PRP is then injected back into specific areas of the face to regenerate collagen, smooth and tighten the skin, soften wrinkles, brighten your skin's tone and enhace elasticity.  It can specifically soften dark hollows around the eyes, plump drawn cheeks, soften lines, lighten dark spots and minimize the appearance of pores, giving your skin tone, tightness and improved texture.
