When it comes to skincare and your at home regimen it is important to remember that your face doesn’t get alllll the attention.  Your neck, chest and back of your hands are areas that are prone to premature aging and applying your skincare products to these areas as well will keep them looking healthy and youthful. 

When applying skincare to your neck and chest, use gentle, upward strokes. To treat your hands, gently press the backs of your hands together to allow the product to penetrate the skin.  Always avoid rubbing or tugging, as this breaks down collagen and elastin.

As we approach the sunnier months, be mindful that many skincare products can cause photosensitivity (a sensitivity to UV light).  Retinol/Retin A, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (Lactic and Glycolic Acids), and Beta Hydroxy Acids (Salicylic Acid) are the biggest culprits.  Apply sunscreen daily, paying special attention to your face, neck, chest and hands.  Try to avoid direct sun exposure between 10-3 (find shade if possible) and wear protective clothing and sunglasses!
